Recent years have seen a continuous upgrade of access control solution from RFID swipe cards to biometric solutions such as face recognition. ID card at card readers may be cost effective and works well until someone ‘loses’ or ‘lends’ their card to others. To mitigate security and data integrity threat, companies that require HR and access record integrity have upgraded their access control system and time & attendance systems to face recognition. These system primarily consists of a face recognition device with multi-factor identity authentication modules, where users can only gain access to certain areas or check in at work by scanning their RFID card along with their face.
